Happy Holidays From Workflow 360

Happy Holidays From Workflow 360!

From our team to you and your family, we wish you a Happy Holidays and a healthy and abundant New Year! We can’t thank you enough for supporting Workflow 360 – a local business supporting our great American economy.

Our team has been working in the automotive industry for decades with plenty of experience in a dealership environment. One of the reasons our company exists is that we wanted to help dealerships and automotive service departments find a solution to common constraints, namely communication and simplifying the workflow process.

The holidays are one of the busiest times for dealerships, as many customers are taking advantage of year-end deals, gifting a vehicle for a loved one, or getting their vehicle ready for road trips to see family and friends. While communication is critical all year round, this season can bring a lot of stress and overwhelm across all departments.

Here are some simple tips to maintain good communication for the coming weeks ahead.

1. Always follow up

Communication can go awry when team members assume a task or a specific detail has been dealt with. Always follow up with other departments for updates if you’re unsure and encourage team members to do the same. In fact, when you consistently follow up with others, you’re teaching by example how to maintain clear communication between departments. It’s always better to take up more time for follow-ups than it is to let communication fall through the cracks that can impact the customer.

2. Use a productivity tool

Most dealerships have the appropriate software to handle daily operations, but one of the biggest constraints is when departments don’t use the software as they should because it’s either too complicated or it doesn’t offer a solution to the problem at hand.

Creating a consistent flow of communication between each department is imperative and can enhance the customer experience. While productivity and communication tools like Slack, Google Calendar, and Asana (to name a few) are great, they’re not specifically designed for dealerships. Workflow 360’s Production Efficiency Platform was intentionally made to work with a dealership’s current DMS without the need to switch software, which can be painstaking.

3. Increase meetings appropriately

Last but not least, most dealerships can benefit from temporarily having more meetings during this time of year. Ideally, you’ll want to have one at the start of every person’s shift, as a group for each department, and a meeting between department managers. This allows team members to voice their concerns and be aware of what’s going on between departments, which can lead to a more efficient and smooth business day.

Keep in mind that an increase in meetings can also add stress to an already busy season, so it’s important to consider time and keep the meetings productive.
